Lucy offers Yoga for Pregnancy via Portsmouth Yoga at her studio room in central Southsea. Classes run on Tuesdays at 9.30am and 6pm and also Thursdays at 5.30pm. You can join the classes any time after 12 weeks of pregnancy, and continue attending right up to the birth of your baby.
You may also wish to attend Childbirth Preparation with your birth partner: these sessions are aimed at creating a calm, positive attitude to labour, birth and beyond and to enable you to learn how to work with your own breath & body, how to use comfort measures, active birth positions and pain coping techniques and to feel ready to labour & birth your baby from a solution-focussed mindset rather than being attached to achieving the *perfect* birth.
After your baby is born, Lucy can help you to regain tone, posture & strength with gentle, restorative & relaxing yoga: bring your baby along for playful baby yoga and some calm mum & baby time. This precious time with your child is not about getting back to *normal* but about adjusting to motherhood, enjoying your bond with your baby and learning to love your body & feel good in your own skin.
Lucy is a qualified Perinatal Yoga Therapist with the Birthlight Trust, and has also completed her Childbirth Preparation course with Birthlight, training under Francoise Barbira Freedman & Ingrid Lewis. Lucy has also attended the Pregnancy Yoga Module with Janet Balaskas at the Active Birth Centre, and has recently completed the Introductory Course “The Art of Childbirth Mentoring” with Birthing From Within, led by Virginia Bobro. Lucy is registered with the Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT National Registration Number 12369).
